THEME: Iconic Symbols of the World
I chose for this icon project is “Iconic Symbols of the World.” Each icon will represent a specific country through a simplified vector image of a famous landmark, building, or cultural symbol that is strongly associated with that country. These icons are designed to be visually intuitive and immediately recognizable, even without any accompanying text.
Purpose & Use Case
This icon set can be used in travel-related applications, such as travel websites, mobile apps, maps, travel agencies, or educational platforms. It can also be used in cultural guides or posters that introduce world geography and global diversity.
Target Audience
• Travelers or tourists
• Children or students learning about world cultures
• Designers or developers working on globalthemed
projects
Visual Style
To maintain a unified look across the entire icon
set, each icon will be placed within a circular
frame. The key feature of each landmark such
as the torch of the Statue of Liberty will slightly
extend beyond the circle’s boundary. This
approach helps retain consistency while allowing
each icon to express its unique character more
clearly.
The icons will follow a simplified flat design style
with clean, geometric shapes and consistent line
weight. Each icon will use a limited color palette of
3–4 muted tones to ensure versatility. The colors
are chosen to be subtle and adaptable, making
the icons suitable for use across a wide range of
platforms, such as websites, mobile apps, and
printed materials.
